In the times of AIDS
PIETA In The Times Of AIDS is an appeal to the hearts of all
those people, groups and cultures harbouring and propelling feelings of stigma
and forces of discrimination
against people living with HIV/AIDS, against their families or neighbours.
PIETA In The Times Of AIDS especially wants to address the pain, suffering and horror caused by blind religious leaders spreading thought, moral views and beliefs which kindle feelings and actions of stigma and discrimination in the hearts of their very sons and daughters, sisters and brothers. PIETA In The Times Of AIDS attempts to reflect the vast body of the Church
and Sangha being heavily infected by HIV/AIDS. The PIETA is wished to be
a catalyst for a spiritual revolution becoming the antidote and the medicine
against inner, outer and secret tendencies and forces of stigma, discrimination
and destruction, and against both worldly and spiritual ignorance. Therefore PIETA In The Time Of AIDS is also a dedication and a reminder
for the suppressed love and compassion for the present living and dying victims
of the disease – women, men and children – and for a great number
of healthy human beings who neither have the will, ability nor possibility
for the practice of abstinence.
